Armenia and French startup Mistral AI join forces to develop AI

Armenia plans to implement joint initiatives with the French company Mistral AI, which is an internationally recognized startup in the field of artificial intelligence.

Possibilities of cooperation in the field of generative AI were discussed the day before at a meeting between the First Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia Gevorg Mantashyan and representatives of Mistral AI, as well as heads of Armenian technology companies, the press service of the department reported.

A seminar on “Artificial Intelligence for the Transformation of Public Administration” was also held with the participation of representatives of Mistral AI.

The discussions covered global trends in AI, machine learning and automation, governance, security and economic development, studying the experience of leading countries using AI, the impact of AI on government activities and the provision of civil services, identifying fraud, anomalies in public procurement and financial transactions using AI, smart governance and data analysis, the use of AI in justice, healthcare and social services, as well as a number of other issues, including priority initiatives for the implementation of AI in Armenia.

It was previously reported that on February 10, 2025, the Armenian Ministry of High Technologies Industry signed a cooperation agreement with Mistral AI. It envisages improving the AI ​​infrastructure in Armenia, supporting AI-based business solutions and improving public administration through the GovTech program, using Mistral AI's experience in commercial and open source artificial intelligence technologies.
